Small Favors 0.99 to Release September 30th, 2022

Yet again I come to you, my massive audience of fevered hallucinations and I guess like three people, for another devlog. I'm the Chief Creator/Producer/Imagineer/Haberdasher of Small Favors. This is the fourth in a series of posts provided in lieu of an actual finished product, and I'm sure some of you are getting impatient. As an offering of appeasement, I've come prepared with a two-step strategy to tide you all over until release day. And that's with RTX off! Though I'm sure that's completely satisfied everyone involved, the happy surprises don't end there. Allow me to present step two of my strategy:

I'm giving up!

…perhaps that one requires a bit more explanation.

To cut the jokes for a moment, I am NOT giving up on releasing a fully completed version of Small Favors. I am, however, giving up on the next release being the last. On September 30th, 2022, I will release Small Favors version 0.99.0. This version will include the game's ending, and both that ending's script and all content before it will be final, never to be edited again beyond bug fixes.

So what WON'T be included in version 0.99? That One Optional Dungeon, a self-explanatory final area with the game's hardest optional boss. Additionally, there may be some small touches of polish or quality of life tweaks that might be added after version 0.99. The important thing to note here is that none of it should lead to any compatibility issues. What little is left unfinished will be sectioned off so you can copy a save of version 0.99 to the final release without issue.

I realize waiting a year and a half since the last version for one that's missing 1% of the content feels like stumbling at the finish line. Those seeking the complete experience can always wait another month or two for the final release. But there's one fan that has been so insistent about publishing the finale to Small Favors that I simply couldn't ignore them any longer. Their name is Myself, and they just won't shut up about it. I'm beginning to think they're stalking me.
